The Canadian GP 2008 'Awards'

Driver of the Day
Robert Kubica - For not only his maiden GP win - but by doing it while everybody else was suffering from 'Montreal Madness' and losing their cool and the plot (see next award for example)

Muppet of the Day
Lewis Hamilton - for not listening to his driving instructor when traffic lights were explained to him!

Everything and nothing

Having a strange day today ...Thinking about in no particular order:

Iphone 3G

Coldplay new album - do I like it?

Morrissey - repetitive play of 'My Dearest Love'

F1 - Canadian GP - so so so annoyed I can't watch it live tonight due to work ...so I'll be up till 03:00am watching the recording.

The Future (and as Morrissey once said 'How soon is now and when exactly do you mean'?)

Am I hungry?

Did I get enough sleep ?

Responsibility.

Heroes Season 1 will I ever catch up ?

Is there enough culture in my life or am I just a fake intellectual ?

Apart from that not done alot today really.

Morrissey 'My Dearest Love' Lyrics

My Dearest Love

These tears I'm wailing
I spill not without reason
Remove them

My Dearest Love
Myyyyyyyyyyyyyyiiiiiiiiii

Take me to the place I've been dreaming of
Where the grotesquely lonely meet grotesquely lonely and they whisper
Just very softly
Please be mine dearest love
Be mine dearest love
Be my dearest love
Be my dearest love

I have hung on hung on hung on
For one hundred years
For someone to shake me someone to wake me
If necessary someone to break me

My dearest love
My dearest love
My dearest love

My dearest love
My dearest love
My dearest love

On the night you went away.

Sometimes life 'swipes' you sideways - with a feeling you are not expecting- just had one of those tonight. Makes you realise sometimes that what comes out of your mouth is not only - not the truth to other people but maybe more surprisingly - not the truth to yourself.

Maybe this life does change your perceptions of what you once thought was 'intrinsic' to 'YOU' as you walk down the road of 'development experience' ?

Feeder 'Silent Cry' Lyrics

Silent Cry

Silence the cry stepping back further
Escape from the mind , my mind
Twisting inside looking for shelter
Find the divide in me

Oh my god what have I done , one step now the damage is done

It's silent without you
It burns through each and everyday
it takes my breathe away
So lonely without you there's no view
Colours just fade to grey
It takes my breathe away

I was so blind I should have seen it
Noticed the life my Life
I had to climb stepping up further
To find the divide in me

Oh my god what have I done , one step now the damage is done.

It's silent without you
It burns through each and everyday
It takes my breathe away
So lonely without you there's no view
Colours just fade to grey

It takes my breathe away

They all say much of us
But then you always knew
Just want to live our lives
We know your trying to
We put our faith in you
(incomprehensible)
To find new ways to care
Until this story ends

It takes my breathe away
It's silent without you
It burns through each and everyday
It takes my breathe away

oooohhh

It takes my Breathe away

BBC IPlayer Download content on Mac OSX

Well as some of you will have noticed, alot has been said about the BBC IPlayer (well here in the UK anyway!).

Well if your a Mac user - (and lets face it if your not - your a lost soul) you cannot download the content off BBC IPlayer for watching at a later date , you have to watch it 'live' streaming on your 'puter.

Well not anymore! With the aid of IPlayer Downloader you can download it to your Mac by inserting the URL of the program you have chosen off IPlayer to watch , and voila! it downloads the program to the destination of your choice - say desktop and you can then open the program in QT (Quicktime).
It can then be transfered to IPod/ Iphone or even Disc.
Oh and it's DRM free so it stays on 'puter for as long as you want it to. So none of this after 30 days or-whatever it is you can't play the file due DRM issues.

So pretty cool eh!

Morrissey new album 'Years of Refusal'

'True to You' have released information in regard to Morrissey's new Album entitled : 'Years of Refusal'.

It's slated for a 9th of September 2008 (UK) release and reported so far to be 12 tracks.

A Sort of partial track listing can be obtained :

'That's how people grow up'
'All you need is me'
'Something is squeezing my skull'
'I'm throwing my arms around paris'
'One day goodbye will be farewell'
'Mama lay softly on the riverbed' -Played at the O2 Wireless festival -4/07/08

Produced by Jerry Finn who helmed Production and Mixing on 'You are the Quarry'

Personally I thought the production on 'Ringleader of the Tormentors' was far more grandiose than the repetitive formulaic approach for 'You are the Quarry' - Maybe Tony Visconti was otherwise engaged.

Album can be pre-ordered here

Morrissey 'All You need is me' - New Single release.

This single was originally slated for a release date of 19th of May , but was delayed (no idea why)

It's available on 2 formats in 3 different 'guises'

1 CD Single
a All you need is me
b Children in Pieces - New Track

2 7'' *1
a All you need is me
b My Dearest love - New Track

3 7'' *2
a All you need is me
b Drive in Saturday ( Live at Orpheum Theatre Omaha Nebraska, 11th May 2007)

Now for the Morrissey concious of you - like me - the first thing you notice is if you don't get your hands on the 7''*1 you can't get hold of the Track 'My Dearest Love', so fingers crossed that when Itunes (UK) updates on Tuesday (3rd June) all tracks become available in a digital format.

Oh and btw the Single is only available for one week.

*update* Looks like Decca are not making this single available on Itunes (UK) - in relation to the b-Sides, so i'm a tad disappointed and annoyed about that to say the least!

Feeder 'Miss You' Lyrics (From the Album 'Silent Cry')

Miss You

Coming around, I'm coming around again,
Cautious now, until the bitter end.
(Just cant see it)
What is this, what have I become?
20 days, 7 hours alone

Your coming back, coming back, coming back
cos' I just don't see it,
coming back, coming back alone.

I miss you, each day day day
I miss you, why does it have to be this way?

Nothing left, nothing left of me,
Solitude, emptiness, defeat.
(Just cant see it)
What is this, what have I become?
20 days, 7 hours alone

Your coming back, coming back, coming back
cos' I just don't see it,
coming back, coming back alone.
(You know i still believe it)
Your coming back, coming back, coming back
cos' I just don't see it,
coming back, coming back alone.

I miss you, each day day day
I miss you, why does it have to be this way?
I miss you, each day day day

why does it have to be this way?

I cant stop falling,
Jumping falling,
There's never been an easy way.
(incomprehensible lyrics)
There's never been an easy way.

I just miss you, each day day day
I miss you, why does it always end this way?

Exporting Video to Iphone

All lot has been said in loads and loads of forums about resizing video for the iphone screen ..what resolution what bit rate etc etc....

To be honest if your an Apple user (they do a version of QT for Pc users as well) the simplest method is Quicktime (if your like me and have QT pro off course)

As the screenshot shows you just open your Avi file in QT and select export ..and choose Iphone from the drop down menu of default settings ..and voila ...it's exported to a folder of your choice.

In my case I just drag and drop the exported file into the Itunes Movies window ..and then sync with my IPhone the file I've exported ..and voila ...done.

ps: click on the picture so you can see it a bit better ;)

Crowds

I've always had a problem with crowds....... differing social needs and aspects of conversation which I do not or desire to take part in.

Coldplay 'Lost' Lyrics from 'Viva LA Vida'

Lost

Just because I'm losing
Doesn't mean I'm lost
Doesn't mean I'll stop
Doesn't mean I will cross

Just because I'm hurting
Doesn't mean I'm hurt
Doesn't mean I didn't get what I deserve
No better and no worse

I just got lost
Every river that I've tried to cross
And every door I ever tried was locked
Ooh-Oh, And I'm just waiting till the shine wears off...

You might be a big fish
In a little pond
Doesn't mean you've won
'Cause along may come
A bigger one
And you'll be lost

Every river that you tried to cross
Every gun you ever held went off
Ooh-Oh, And I'm just waiting till the firing starts
Ooh-Oh, And I'm just waiting till the shine wears off
Ooh-Oh, And I'm just waiting till the shine wears off
Ooh-Oh, And I'm just waiting till the shine wears off…

WALL.E

The film of the summer me thinks , Indiana Jones ...yea ok it will be what it will be - but this this will be FUN!!

Coldplay Viva La Vida Lyrics

Viva La Vida

I used to rule the world
Seas would rise when I gave the word
Now in the morning I sleep alone
Sweep the streets I used to own
I used to roll the dice
Feel the fear in my enemy's eyes
Listen as the crowd would sing:
"Now the old king is dead! Long live the king!"
One minute I held the key
Next the walls were closed on me
And I discovered that my castles stand
Upon pillars of salt, pillars of sand

I hear Jerusalem bells are ringing
Roman Cavalry choirs are singing
Be my mirror my sword and shield
My missionaries in a foreign field
For some reason I can't explain
Once you go there was never, never an honest word
That was when I ruled the world

It was the wicked and wild wind
Blew down the doors to let me in.
Shattered windows and the sound of drums
People couldn't believe what I'd become
Revolutionaries wait
For my head on a silver plate
Just a puppet on a lonely string
Oh who would ever want to be king?

I hear Jerusalem bells are ringing
Roman Cavalry choirs are singing
Be my mirror my sword and shield
My missionaries in a foreign field
For some reason I can't explain
I know Saint Peter will call my name
Never an honest word
But that was when I ruled the world

(Ooooh Oooh Oooh)

Hear Jerusalem bells are ringing
Roman Cavalry choirs are singing
Be my mirror my sword and shield
My missionaries in a foreign field
For some reason I can't explain
I know Saint Peter will call my name
Never an honest word
But that was when I ruled the world

Facebook and Iphone

Scan through the installer, and locate the facebook app (You can just perform search on the installer and type 'Facebook' - it's a tad quicker!)

Download the app to your Iphone and then it will ask you to 'sign in' .

Now here's the rub , up until I installed the 'fix' for the IPlayer (see previous blog post) the 'log in' screen kept coming up everytime I moved tabs ...which was a tad frustrating as you can imagine , but a knock on effect of installing that 'patch' is it no longer keeps asking me to log in ...so 'instant' facebook on a Wi-Fi hotspot.

IPhone BBC IPlayer Fix

The link will tell you to use the installer to add a new 'source' to your Installer (This only applies to Jailbroken IPhones), follow the instructions as per the link , and then Turn the Iphone off and back on - and voila Iplayer live ... ahhh I can chill out to the sky at night at last.

If like me you were getting the 'Error cannot play movie' dialogue box this will brighten your day immensely :)

Thoughts on the Iphone

Well it's been a few days now with the iPhone, so time for some reality to add to the WOW that happened when I opened the box last week.

First things first as a mobile phone it works in a pretty slick manner , though if your a fan of MMS you'll be disappointed because it doesn't work out of the box, there is a work around on 'jailbroken' iPhones but to be honest it's just confusing and I can't be assed to do terminal commands anymore.
Standard txt msg'ing though is a dream come true for those of you familiar with iChat or for that sake MSN messenger (spit) it remembers your txt Msg's as conversations so that's makes keeping up with the 'thread' of the txting a breeze. So ten out of ten for that implimentation.

The email is pretty fantastic full email preview complete with links that are clickable and also the graphics/pictures that are embedded in the mail eg : amazon /hmv mails look and behave exactly like they do your computer.

Text input on handheld devices ala the 'Palm' has always been bit of a bugbear , let's face it take away somebody's kybd and the long faces and complaints about bloody gadgets start. Well you ain't seen nothing yet ladies and gentlemen till you typed txt on an iphone everything else you've used with or without stylus is just soooooo last year!
it corrects your typing as you go along by working out which key you really wanted to hit and when you hit the space bar as I am now while I type this txt it inserts the word it thinks you really intended to type its got to be seen to believed it's brilliant.

Well that's a few thoughts for the moment on how me and the iPhone are getting along more to come as it does have a few more tricks up its sleeve, so bye for now.

Ps: did I tell you if you hit the spacebar twice as in ala double clicking it inserts a '.' (period/full stop) ;)

iPhone blogging.

Well mobile blogging with the aid of my wireless network, so mobile blogging from my front room LOL

Sat here using my wireless network to stream music into the front room (so who says technology can't help you chill :)

So if you or in my case ME have access to a wireless network I can update my blog , mind you txt only at the moment as I've not worked out a way to upload the photos I take with the iPhone to the blog - if I could do that now that would be cool!

Live big Screen HD Dolby 5.1 Formula 1 ..now there's a thought!

The Odeon cinema chain are doing Live F1 races on the big screen (see link in title), I was very interested till I found out it's £15.00 a ticket!!!
Still would be pretty good in HD and Dolby 5.1!!!

Mind you if the BBC get their act together and transmit the races in HD next season that would be pretty cool.

Iphone has landed...well into my hands anyway!

Wow is the only word for the Iphone (ok I'm a mac - freak/geek/nerd/fanatic/head/fanboy/lover etc etc) but having said that it is just pure sex with an apple logo on it...how does apple do it? they just design 'purity' and package it in the 'warmth' of usability.
Needless to say I think it's pretty cool :)

The picture was taken with the iphone built in camera , which I have to say is better than I thought it would be.

Anyway this explains why the blog has not been updated for a few days ..that and other things (like life) have got in the way .....normal service will be resumed shortly.

NIN Free 'Album' download 'the slip'

Trent Reznor has made available to download for 'free' - (bless him), his latest album , available from the link - in title- just sign up with a valid e-mail address - so you that you get the download link, and there you have it,
I have downloaded it but due to a very busy evening not had chance to listen to it yet!

File is available in a variety of formats (Flac/Wav/MP3/ Apple Lossless) so just pick the version you would like.

A Thought... a wake up call.

"If you stare long enough into the abyss, it will look back at you through your own eyes"

Anger turned in and consumed (Gustave Dore/ Dante)

[Sic] "thy fury turned inward on thyself and thee consumed".

No Truer words spoken.

Using your Iphone as an Itunes Remote control (a'la Salling Clicker)

If like me you stream your music round the house with Airport express, it's rather annoying that you can only set up the computer to play a playlist, then settle down in say your front room , and realise you want to play a completely different 'mood' of track, In the past I used 'Salling Clicker' on my Ericsson Mobile to do the task via bluetooth.

Well strangely enough on the Iphone this software is not compatible so hence the link to Signal, The program uses filesharing on your host (Main) computer to do the task and hence your Wi-fi network , a bit of fiddling with your system settings (no Terminal commands here!) and voila ..your away ...well allegedly! - can't confirm because I've not tested it yet lol.

Another program that uses the same way of accessing your Itunes library (and playing back over the computer or Airport Express speakers) is 'Remote Buddy' this is slightly more involved with your mac as it allows you to control presentations as well but maybe a bit more than need as to be honest.
I would just want to control my Itunes library remotely.

Stream Movies to your iphone - with a bit of Terminal commands!

Well the Iphone is coming not here yet - due to bizarre SIM problems that I won't bore you all with.

But on a research note, I've been looking into streaming the movies that i have on my G5 (home Computer) over my Wi-Fi network to my (imminent) Iphone, as the idea of doing that is pretty cool !

Anyway i will be trying that hopefully soon !

ps: link to info is in title btw.

pps: Heres another link with instructions

The Back of the new Apple 3G Iphone ..allegedly!

The back of the 'New 2nd Gen Iphone (allegedly) the back is no longer metal.
Screen resolution to be about the same, addition of 3g and GPS is on the cards though these rumours are all over the web, so is it hope or fact?

Headphone jack is (allegedly) now flush not recessed.
Battery life still the same (though GPS and 3G do put more strain on the battery so that remains to be confirmed methinks).
And battery still not removable.. now there's a surprise!

July is looking like a release date, but the WWDC in San Francisco is due on June 9-13th and that is normally when Apple do there 'one last thing trick'..........

Coldplay 'Viva La Vida (Death and all his friends)' album artwork. Free Song from Album available soon.

Graffiti makes it into classical painting :(

" Liberty Leading the People' by Eugene Delacroix.
Painted in 1830 it depicts the three day July uprising that that toppled Charles X.

A note to this post the Album has been brought forward to a June 12th release date in the UK.

'Violet hill' from the album will be available from here tomorrow @ 12:15pm for one week only.

I Can't breathe without you..... 'She Has no time' - Keane

"She Has No Time"

You think your days are uneventful
And no one ever thinks about you
She goes her own way
She goes her own way
You think your days are ordinary
And no one ever thinks about you
But we're all the same
And she can hardly breathe without you

She says she has no time
For you now
She says she has no time

Think about the lonely people
Then think about the day she found you
Or lie to yourself
And see it all dissolve around you

She says she has no time
For you now
She says she has no time
For you now
She says she has no time

Lonely people tumble downwards
My heart opens up to you
When she says

She says she has no time
For you now
She says she has no time
For you now
She says she has no time

Spain F1 Qualifying Ferrari- Raikkonen on pole.

A stunning last lap of qually puts Kimi on pole and snatch's the pole from Alonso.
A surprisingly resurgent Renault - but probably fuel light - Pat symonds hinted at that when he referred to Nelson Piquet's 10th place - more representative maybe ?

McLaren continue into dismal form with Hamilton 5th and teammate 6th - oh well never mind eh lads hehehehe

Massa continues to show brilliance while still managing to get it wrong at the crucial moment and ends up 3rd - he showed signs of clinching pole at the start of the third qually but then just lost the rhythm and hence the pace.

Kubica still shows he's a fighter and not to be dismissed ...with a respectable 4th for BMW/Sauber

Looks like it could be quite an interesting start tomorrow a few grudges and world championship points to fight for on those opening laps... I for one can't wait!

Provisional Grid for tomorrow :

1. RAIKKONEN Ferrari
2. ALONSO Renault
3. MASSA Ferrari
4. KUBICA BMW
5. HAMILTON McLaren
6. KOVALAINEN McLaren
7. WEBBER Red Bull
8. TRULLI Toyota
9. HEIDFELD BMW
10. PIQUET Renault
11. BARRICHELLO Honda
12. NAKAJIMA Williams
13. BUTTON Honda
14. GLOCK Toyota
15. ROSBERG Williams
16. BOURDAIS Toro Rosso
17. COULTHARD Red Bull
18. VETTEL Toro Rosso
19. FISICHELLA Force India
20. SUTIL Force India
21. DAVIDSON Super Aguri
22. SATO Super Aguri

NIN Download song 'Discipline'

Released yesterday as a free download. this is not related to the download of 'Ghosts' material.

A vocal track but not with the same anger as 'Year Zero' so maybe ghosts has mellowed the style ?

Also the 'Multitrack files are available for 'Discipline' at Remix NIN.com

Unlocking the Iphone on a Mac with Ziphone 3.0

Posted a link to this video for a couple of reasons ,
1 it's the only decent video i could find that was based on unlocking the iphone on a Mac
2 It shows you the process on an unopened (eg: Brand New ) Iphone.

I Have an interest in this as this is maybe the way i will be going in a couple of weeks ....as my friends know i'm very cautious when it comes to things like this - so a couple of weeks or so investigation and deliberation is not unheard of on my part.

Anyway we shall see what I decide in the future...

Ferrari F1 Slick tyre 2009?

So it looks like Slick tyre's are back on the agenda for 2009 .... mentioned in passing at the beginning of the season as a possibility for 2009 , it seems they are on the agenda, as Williams/Toro Rosso/ Honda and also Ferrari have been testing slick tyres at Barcelona this week.

Interesting as Slick tyre's were taken away in order to reduce speeds in F1 as a safety measure (aerodynamics were seen as the cause of the Slick tyre's demise owing to the amount of mechanical grip being generated by active suspension etc).

Personally F1 is about 'speed' so I welcome their return.

The Last Shadow Puppets - Age of Understatement/ In My Room

The potential for this band is stunning , a mixture of 60's nostalgia and string symphony's from heaven, Kitchen sink observed lyrics from a chaise longue in a seedy gentlemen's club.

Yea I quite like the style ;)

Link to BBC Iplayer - Performance of both tracks on 'Later Live' - last night please note this may only be available to UK residents

Portishead Machine gun Live on Jools Holland

Portishead Performed on the 'Later Live' program last night , excellent it was , for you ppl who missed it - you can watch it on the BBC Iplayer (think this is UK only though). Anyway was excellent and made much more sense as a track when performed live , ethereal vocals over machine dystopia ...fantastic.

Fiorentini + Baker 'Elf' Casual Boots... never been obsessed with footwear before...

Tried these boots on in a 'Sole' shop in the Trafford centre in Manchester (Uk)- six months ago - cost £200!!! lots of gulping ...and sucking of air between teeth.... then walked away ... haunted me ever since ...barsteward things!!

Comfortable as an old friend and as relaxing as a summers night.... (jeez poetry with boots what's happening to me).

Belle Epoque 'Black is Black' disco Nostalgia !

ahh, nostalgia is a wonderful thing, the things you remember as being great or good are revisited and you find em slightly - shall we say 'worn round the edges'?

Never been a great disco fan , but hey I was a young kid when saturday night fever /Grease et'al was out , so the sight of three (at that time) attractive ladies gyrating was bound to catch my eye...... looking back mind you at the video ..can't think why i wasn't whipped down the opticians straight away!

anyway for your delectation and delight I present to you a blast from the disco past ..... still a top song ...even though the 'ladies' may not be as 'sultry' as I remember....ah well that's nostalgia for you!

Song lyrics | Black Is Black lyrics

As an aside to this snippet of Disco History , I discovered on my wanderings that this song was 'Originally' released in 1966 by 'Los Bravos' a spanish group, so here for you also is the original version - sung in the style of Gene Pitney I believe.

'Lady Midnight' by Leonard Cohen

I came by myself to a very crowded place;
I was looking for someone who had lines in her face.
I found her there but she was past all concern;

I asked her to hold me, I said, "Lady, unfold me,"
but she scorned me and she told me
I was dead and I could never return.

Well, I argued all night like so many have before,
saying, "Whatever you give me, I seem to need so much more."
Then she pointed at me where I kneeled on her floor,
she said, "Don't try to use me or slyly refuse me,
just win me or lose me,
it is this that the darkness is for."

I cried, "Oh, Lady Midnight, I fear that you grow old,
the stars eat your body and the wind makes you cold."
"If we cry now," she said, "it will just be ignored."

So I walked through the morning, sweet early morning,I could hear my lady calling,

"You've won me, you've won me, my lord,
you've won me, you've won me, my lord,
yes, you've won me, you've won me, my lord,
ah, you've won me, you've won me, my lord,
ah, you've won me, you've won me, my lord."

NIN - Perfect Drug.

I got my head but my head is unravelling
cant keep control can't keep track of where it's travelling
I got my heart but my heart's no good
you're the only one that's understood

I come along but i dont know where you're taking me
I shouldn't go but you're wrenching dragging shaking me
turn off the sun pull the stars from the sky
the more i give to you the more i die

and i want you

you are the perfect drug
the perfect drug
the perfect drug
the perfect drug

you make me hard when i'm all soft inside
I see the truth when i'm all stupid-eyed
the arrow goes straight through my heart
without you everything just falls apart

my blood just wants to say hello to you
my fears want to get inside of you
my soul is so afraid to realize
how very little good is left of me

and i want you

you are the perfect drug
the perfect drug
the perfect drug
the perfect drug

take me with you

without you everything just falls apart

it's not as much fun to pick up the pieces

Ferrari Yes!! Bahrain is our circuit...

Well a historic victory in Bahrain for Ferrari .... the opposition truly annihilated .....

Strange I can't hear the lewis fans anymore (Probably too busy shouting at Alonso and Renault thinking about it).... hehehehe McLaren are going to struggle to beat BMW this season if they don't get their act together.

Shame Raikonnen did not take the win ...but hey I'm happy with a strong 2nd place and five points infront of the nearest McLaren driver.

Race report

Roll on 18 days ...and Barcelona ...a chance for a further stretching of Raikonnen's lead ..... oh and btw Massa is not out of trouble yet ...cos after all race fans, one thing Massa is good at being is 'Inconsistent'

The Truth will set you free.

First blood to Ferrari then....

Coldplay - New Album - Prospekt - Viva La Vida - Death and all his Friends

Coldplay's new album is slated for a mid-May release.
The songs are said to be 'very different' from the previous 'Trilogy' of Coldplay's output - taking a more percussive and distorted guitar backdrop to Chris Martins more personal and real vocal performance.

Produced by Brian Eno, who was brought onboard in the new year.
Eno was quoted as saying on BBC's front row program (in January) "(it) will be very original and very different from what they've done before."

For an informative news story on the Albums creation see here

Meanwhile the 'Provisional Track-listing is as follows:

1 Famous old painters
2 Glass of Water
3 Lost!
4 Cemeteries of London
5 Violet Hill
6 Poppy Fields
7 42
8 Yes!
9 Leftrightleftright
10 Rainy Day
11 Prospekt's March

Other Song Titles flying about are as follows:
"Death and All His Friends"
"Life in Technicolour"

Whether these are different songs to the track-listing above or just alternative titles that have been dismissed and replace by the ones above remains to be seen.

The 'End is nigh' for Felipe Massa at Ferrari ?

As per my previous post on March the 23rd, The silly season (at Ferrari at least) has already started, Massa is under pressure to perform this wknd, and if he doesn't ..well there's that Alonso bloke waiting in the wings to take his seat in 09, That has got to be Ferrari's worst kept secret. Mind you Vettel is being eyed up by Ferrari as well - but that would be a mid season swap if the worse came to the worse with Massa - and as we know he doesn't perform well under pressure does our Massa.

Brett Anderson Quote 'Love is Dead'

Radiohead Remix Site Nude/Stems

Radiohead have announced today a Re-mixable version of 'Nude' available from the ITunes store, so for a small amount of money you can save them £20,000 on getting some bloke in to do a crap re-mix for a b-side. Though I'm sure they don't see it quite like that - cynical moi?

Having read the book some time ago,I was surprised to see that an Australian Film has been made. The book is originally set in Amsterdam - so you'd think euro-chic exploitation would be just around the corner. (ala Baise moi without the guns) .

What struck me about the book (I can't comment on the film as I have not seen it yet) was the premise of 'normal' life torn away in seconds, A man (who is a Dancer- so sic physically attractive and desirable ) goes out to buy a pack of cigarettes and is abducted by three cloaked women for 12 days.
The journey of the book is the character trying to put his life back in order after the 'event' and how he emotionally feels about what has happened to him. Did he enjoy it ? was it a wish fulfillment fantasy? was it the empowerment of these women at the expense of his ego and imprisonment? These questions and more are raised.

Books and films that deal with sexuality in all it's -shall we say non normal desires - are always going to be hard on the eyes.and yet anything that reflects human desires in whatever shape or form is not to be ignored because the cost of doing so leads to closure of the mind, with that in mind the filming of 'Book of Revelations' is to be applauded - however whether it is as effective as film as it was as a book I will have to wait and see.

Brett Anderson 'We Can Be Anyone' Lyrics

You can almost feel the 'emotional tension' when listening to this song.

We Can Be Anyone

Evening arrives with it's scandals and lies
and it's breeding grounds
and the lights on your face show up all the mistakes
so I dim them down

You are electric tonight you are connected tonight
you can be anyone
you feel the tension inside as I turn out the lights
you can be anyone

Evening is here with it's scandals and fears
and it's shadow play
and the lights on your arms show the scratches and scars
so I turn away

You are electric tonight you are connected tonight
you can be anyone
cos if I turn out the lights If I screw up my eyes
you could be anyone

And as this tensioning night
and with this feeling inside
we can be anyone

cos if turn out the lights
if I screw up my eyes you could be anyone

Evening arrives with it's scandals and lies
and it's shadow play

and the lights on your face show up all the mistakes
so I turn away

Keane 'A Bad Dream' Lyrics.

Why do I have to fly
Over every town up and down the line?
I'll die in the clouds above
and you that I defend, I do not love

I wake up, it's a bad dream,
No one on my side
I was fighting
But I just feel too tired to be fighting
Guess I'm not the fighting kind

Where will I meet my fate?
Baby I'm a man and I was born to hate
And when will I meet my end?
In a better time you could be my friend

I wake up, it's a bad dream
No one on my side
I was fighting
But I just feel too tired to be fighting
Guess I'm not the fighting kind
Wouldn't mind it

If you were by my side
But you're long gone,
Yeah you're long gone now

Yeah
Where do we go?
I don't even know
My strange old face
And I'm thinking about those days
And I'm thinking about those days

I wake up, it's a bad dream
No one on my side
I was fighting
But I just feel too tired to be fighting
Guess I'm not the fighting kind
Wouldn't mind it
If you were by my side
But you're long gone,
Yeah you're long gone now
Yeah

Portishead - Machine Gun

Well Portishead return to the land of the 'Living' with a new single.

A bizarre mix of Old school Portishead and Aphex Twin , think there may be a bit of Kraftwerk in there as well.

Excellently diverse not to everybody's taste I am sure but it's got something deep in it's soul.

P2P Limewire/Frostwire vs Transmission on Mac OSX Leopard.

Well I updated to Leopard some months ago, and ever since then Frostwire which I was currently using died (Something to do with the 'Mac Firewall' methinks).
After an exhautive search of the WWW the answer was 'not out there' so did what some posts suggested and installed 'Limewire' , this worked for a while but still showed that I was behind a 'Firewall' (even though I had set security to allow Limewire access to ports).

Limewire over the last week or so has slowly died...great connection on start up then ..pooh.
This morning I researched the web and no more info available. so had to get my thinking cap on.

So reverted to 'Transmission' and as of this morning it is working ok  (fingers crossed and wood touched - and somewhere in my local area there is a 3 legged rabbit).

So the answer to all those people who are trying to use P2P apps on Mac OSX 10.5 'Leopard' is to use 'Transmission' instead.

Horton Hears a Who! (Best film of 2008....?)

I have to say it's not many times a film lives upto your expectations, but Horton Hears a Who! did (well ok apart from the naff song bit at the end).

This film is excellent does what it says on the 'tin' and is full of film refs for the movie buffs (2001/Invasion of the bodysnatchers etc...) so plenty for adults as well as kids.

Infact the funniest film I've seen since RV

Throughly recommended to all.

T.I.A. comes to the UK at last (Heathrow Fingerprint Scanning to be a reality).

Having just finished watching the 'Last Enemy' on UK tv , I find the announcement of Fingerprint 'Control' rather alarming. The future of citizen control is coming soon to a country near you.

All this technology is being used to prove you 'Guilty' rather than to prove you innocent.

Want to borrow a library book sir ?  'Just scan your fingerprint please/ Want to complain about Council services sir ? 'Just scan your fingerprint sir so we know who you are

Want to take some cash out of the ATM? .....Just scan your fingerprint.

I could go on but you get my drift.

The future is 1984.

Ferrari at Malaysia ....Oh Yes!

Well the Malaysian GP went a tad better than the Oz one did (though Massa managed to make an idiot of himself yet again)
Raikkonen was supreme throughtout the race, lived up to his name 'Iceman' once again.

You know something i think we've got a strong chance this year of winning the Constructors title if we could just get Massa to perform consistently

...and remember kids you heard it hear first - Massa will be out of Ferrari this season.

Snow Patrol Lyrics take two....

'We Can all Run away now they're all dead'.

One step too far
Is not far enough away from here

Stay close to me
Don't relax your grip on my right hand

But you are all I really want in this life
You could be the summer rain on my face
You push a little tear into my eye lid
Don't torture yourself thinking that it must sting

Don't turn your head
Pretend they're all dead and gone by now

Can you feel that?
Feels like breath on the back of my neck

But you are all I really want in this life
You could be the summer rain on my face
You push a little tear into my eye lid
Don't torture yourself thinking that it must sting

Manic Street Preachers cover Rihanna's 'Umbrella'

Shimmering Guitar sound, Worth a listen for that alone.

And I have to say a pretty cool version to boot!

Who watches the 'Watchmen' ?

Well the comic book that refused to be filmed is due for release in little less than a year, lets hope it turns out better than the disaster that was 'Sin City'!!

Saddleworth, Whit Friday Band Contest (And Whit Walk)

A bizarre link I know , but a piece of my past , and a lovely one at that.
Nostalgia is a powerful thing never forget that.

Snow Patrol 'Chocolate'

The one and only snow patrol song for me...

This could be the very minute
I'm aware I'm alive
All these places feel like home

With a name I'd never chosen
I can make my first steps
As a child of 25

This is the straw, final straw in the
Roof of my mouth as I lie to you
Just because I'm sorry doesn't mean
I didn't enjoy it at the time

You're the only thing that I love
It scares me more every day
On my knees I think clearer

Goodness knows I saw it coming
Or at least I'll claim I did
But in truth I'm lost for words

What have I done it's too late for that
What have I become truth is nothing yet
A simple mistake starts the hardest time
I promise I'll do anything you ask...this time

Arthur C Clarke Dies

A sad day for Science Fiction fans worldwide. He will be sorely missed. A true pioneer of Science mixed in with fact and fiction.
A foreteller of Satellite technology that we now in our modern world take for granted.

A great visionary.

Brett Anderson 'Infinite Kiss'

And when your clothes are on the ground
and your hair is falling down
Will you surrender to it now?
Because yes only we exist in our symphony
of flesh in our universe of bliss

In the infinite kiss, the infinite kiss

As it subjugates you now, as it pins you
to the ground like a tethered animal
As it drags you by the hips and it forces
you to this, it is hell but it is bliss

It's the infinite kiss, the infinite kiss

As you move like a machine and the child within
you screams 'when was heaven so obscene?'
It's our playground of excess, it is poetry made
flesh, it's our symphony of bliss

The infinite kiss, the infinite kiss

China subjugates Tibet once again....

China has proved itself once again to be a 'Force' of conquest in Tibet rather than realize that Tibet is a separate Country and not China's to rule as it sees fit.

The Deaths in Tibet by Chinese troops is reprehensible and should be roundly condemned by other nations. Sanctions against China are surely the only way it will realize it has gone too far this time.
(Remember 'Massacre in Tiananmen Square' anybody?).

I for one do not want my Country (UK) to be competing in the Olympic Games at 'Beijing' this summer , if the Country that is 'Hosting' the games commits human rights infractions without a care or concern for life or sovereignty of that people or state.

Sign the Government e-Petition (UK Residents only) Boycott the Beijing Olympics

I really don't care if it is a great world trade partner..... money is not everything.
The time to stand is now and 'enough is enough'

NIN (Nine inch Nails) You tube Festival for 'Ghosts'

NIN are doing a fan submitted Videos for their new album 'Ghosts' the idea is described by Trent Reznor in the 'Link above'

General idea is you 'compose' a piece of Video for a Track (or even tracks) from the Ghosts album , and submit it , and if your lucky it gets included.

So get thinking ...you just never know :)

For those of you who are not aware of Ghosts the link will explain a bit more.

Race Report Australia

Zero-Sum Lyrics....

'And you never get away
And you never get to take the easy way
And all of this is a consequence
Brought on by our own hand
If you believe in that sort of thing
And did you ever really find
When you close your eyes
Any place that was still
And at peace
And I guess I just wanted to tell you
As the light starts to fade
That you are the reason
That I am not afraid
And I guess I just wanted to mention
As the heavens will fall
We will be together soon if we
Will be anything at all'

Trent Reznor.

The great things you have to fight for in life, the pointless things just fall into your hand.

Poetry moment

" I asked your friends if they had seen you around?
They said yes but they had seen you wearing a frown.
We came to this point my love , through words that were cast like stones, into a shallow pool of love"

Eve of the Eve of F1 2008

Well it all starts tomorrow night  (Practise starts in 90mins but I have to get up in the morning so will have to miss the live Web streaming of that on the ITV.Com website :( )

However all is go for Qually and the race so am soooo looking fwd to having me F1 back ... to mis-quote a famous commentator.. it's (nearly) go go go of the 2008 F1 season!

(about bloody time an all lol)

A bit of a lyric thing with the blog at the moment -

"I put one foot forward and ended up thirty yards back.
And am I losing touch or am I just completely off the track?
And I don't know why I want to voice this out loud,
It's theraputic somehow".

Wombats -  Moving to New York

I've got the hump with my phone (LG Viewty) cos the bluetooth is not working with my Mac - my relationship with this phone has got an end date I can see it coming.

Thought provoking 'Keane' lyrics

Lyrics to 'He used to be such a Lovely Boy'

Time to leave this town
now your dreams have all let you down,
No one here will miss you now,
Time to wake up and look around.

He used to be a lovely boy,
lovely boy, lovely boy.
He used to be a lovely boy.

Turn away and turn a head,
just a hopeless dreamer she said,
Eyes of cloud and feet of lead,
find a shore that needs you instead.

He used to be a lovely boy,
lovely boy, lovely boy.
He used to be a lovely boy.

Time on your hands,
world at your feet,
no adventure left incomplete.

Find a place where you can hide
from the love that holds you inside,
time's so unkind,
like an old friend leaves you behind.

Mac OSX 'Blog Widget'

Just found the world's coolest 'Blog' Widget,
I can now add txt straight onto the blog via a 'Dashboard Widget' , this has probably been around for eons but hey it's new to me! and it's cool for adding that 'instantaneous thought' to the blog , which was the reason i started the blog in the first place.

Feedburner ??

Well I've started a 'feedburner' profile , and to be honest I'm just so confused with it . It just ain't going to make it onto this blog at the moment. Infact I don't think i understand it.
And as they say if you don't need it ya don't use it. (Well they don't say exactly that but you catch my drift).

I hate getting up late, throws you out for the rest of the day , think it is something that just happens  - it feels like your whole body and mind is out of sync with the 'hour' of the day.

My sense of 'creativity' has waned somewhat of late.

LInk posted to 'Live' webcam transmission...on YahooLive! ..if this video is live ..i'm transmitting.

24 days 15 hours to the aussie GP ...just thought i'd mention that.

added link to del.icio.us bookmark site, to sidebar.
Just to let ppl know what if anything was catching my eye in the world .

"Nothing ever goes right
Nothing really flows in my life.

No-one really cares if there's horror's inside my head"

Brett anderson.

Well the Great one does it again with a brilliant new track.

"That's how people grow up"

Inspired poetic excellence...

From today the future will be different from how it was yesterday.

Looks like life is changing again , ah well ya gotta keep up ...and It don't half keep you awake!!

'Lying in my bed watching my mistakes run through my head'.

Inspired by 'The 2 of Us' by Suede.

life is not designed for our comfort but for our struggle, for in struggle there is growth.
Now don't you all feel better now that question is resolved?

The Song list is more interesting ...that shows a good choice of songs even if I do say so myself ;)

Well that's the training done.... so next up on Monday it's all on me own-eo !
