What does it all Mean ?

"Is the definition of existence, conscious thought?

Example: I exist but the question is why do I exist?
And to what purpose is my existence?

Keane "On a Day like today" Lyrics

"On a day like today"

On a day like today
I looked at you and I
Saw something in the way
You stared into the sky
I saw you
Were sick and tired of my wrong turns
If you only knew
The way I feel
I'd really love to tell you but I,

Could never seem to say the things I needed to
On a day like today no other words would do

I saw you
Were sick and tired of my wrong turns
If you only knew
The way I feel
I'd really love to tell you but I,

Can never find the words to say and I don't know why
I can't find the words to say and I don't know why
I can't find the words to say and I don't know why
I can't find the words to say and I don't know why

And I don't know why....
And I don't know why....
And I don't Know why....

I saw you...
Were sick and tired of my wrong turns
If you only knew
The way I feel
I'd really love to tell you but I.....
Can never find the words to say
And I don't know why
I can't find the words to say
And I don't know why....

Morrissey "Life is a Pigsty" lyrics

Life is A Pigsty

It´s the same old S.O.S.
But with brand new broken fortunes
And once again I turn to you
Once again I do I turn to you

It´s the same old S.O.S.
But with brand new broken fortunes
I´m the same underneath
But this you, you surely knew

Life is a pigsty
Life is a pigsty
Life is a pigsty
Life is a pigsty
Life, life is a pigsty
Life, life is a pigsty
Life, life is a pigsty
Life is a pigsty

And if you don´t know this
Then what do you know?
Every second of my life I only live for you
And you can shoot me
And you can throw me off a train
I still maintain
I still maintain

Life, life is a pigsty
Life is a pigsty
And I´d been shifting gears all along my life
But I´m still the same underneath
This you surely knew

I can´t reach you
I can´t reach you
I can´t reach you anymore
Can you please stop time?
Can you stop the pain?
I feel too cold
And now I feel too warm again

Can you stop this pain?
Can you stop this pain?
Even now in the final hour of my life
I´m falling in love again
Again

Even now in the final hour of my life
I´m falling in love again
Again
Again
Again

I´m falling in love again
Again
Again
Again

French GP 2008 'Awards'

Driver of the Day
Jarno Trulli - for holding it all together to take a podium, through the thick and thin - in his case 'wet and dry track conditions' with Kovalainen crawling all over the back of his gearbox in the last few laps.

Muppet of the Day
Well yet again Lewis Hamilton has got to be the front runner for this , when you pass a car on the 'track' you pass a car on the track ...not via the chicane ...that's what I do on the Playstation!

NIN Remix Added 'Head Down (WhiteNoise)'

Eventually finished this mix - had to compress the heck out of it in the end!
Not 100% happy with it , but had to let it go at some point.

NIN "Something I can Never Have" Lyrics

Sometimes we all think what would have happened if we had made different decision on 'life's journey' ...what would have happened? - would we still recognize the person we are now ...would we more importantly recognize that person we had become ?

At the core of us all, are our fears..and our hopes (Album title in there somewhere methinks)

I can remember a 'single' point in my existence when I decided on this journey I have taken ...and for that I am relieved... That at that moment 'I was strong enough' to realize that destiny had took me in her arms.

'Something I Can Never Have'

I still recall
The taste of your tears
Echoing your voice
Just like the ringing in my ears
My favorite dreams of you
Still wash ashore
Scraping through my head
'Till I don't want to sleep anymore

You make this all go away
You make this all go away
I'm down to just one thing
And I'm starting to scare myself
You make this all go away
You make this all go away

I just want something
I just want something
I can never have

You always were the one
To show me how
Back then
I couldn't do the things
That I can do now
This thing
Is slowly taking me apart
Grey would be the colour
If I had a heart

Come on tell me
You make this all go away
You make this all go away
I'm down to just one thing
And I'm starting to scare myself
You make this all go away
You make this all go away

I just want something
I just want something
I can never have

In this place
It seems like such a shame
Though it all looks different now,
I know it's still the same
Everywhere I look
You're all I see
Just a fading fucking reminder
Of who I used to be

Come on tell me
You make this all go away
You make this all go away
I'm down to just one thing
And I'm starting to scare myself
You make this all go away
You make it all go away

I just want something
I just want something
I can never have
I just want something
I can never have

Existence but what does it Matter?

'Existence but what does it matter' ? - that's a quote in my head but not sure at this moment who said it ....

Everything that is 'deemed reality' is but sensations brought to you by your senses:
Touch/Smell/Hear/Vision.
But what if 'reality is inside your head' (another quote there I think) - what if that is the true reality of life?
After all is not how we react to life/people/ situations etc ...represented by how we deal' with these events within our 'consciousness' ?

Human psyche deals in basic needs as a 'pyramid'
(see "Maslow" Diagram above)

If however and this is just a thought while I write this - what happens if you do not complete all the steps in 'order' - can this be done? - I'm not sure and does this have an effect upon how you view life within your 'own reality' ?
Can it be done? ...or do you end up with a 'personal reality' based upon a false 'achievement' of that particular 'step'?

Coldplay 42 Lyrics

42

Those who are dead are not dead
They're just living in my head
And since I fell for that spell
I am living there as well
Oh...

Time is so short and I'm sure
There must be something more

Those who are dead are not dead
They're just living in my head oh…And since I fell for that spell
I am living there as well
Oh…

Time is so short and I'm sure
There must be something more

Oooh....
(Instrumental Break)

You thought you might be a ghost
You thought you might be a ghost
You didn't get to heaven but you made it close
You didn't get to heaven but you made it close

You thought you might be a ghost
You thought you might be a ghost
You didn't get to heaven but you made it close
You didn't get to heaven but you
Oh oh
Oh oh…
Those who are dead are not dead
They're just living in my head
Oh...

Coldplay BBC Live Gig 18/06/08

Well I watched this live, after after being a bit disappointed with the sound quality to begin with -picture was cool because I was watching it on BBC HD - the sound and the band warmed up.

Was only on for 45mins but was a nice 'event' - if a bit middle class I thought.

contrary to the track listing posted by the BBC - Life in Technicolour was not transmitted , infact the gig was cut to just as the last bars of the song faded out, so you had to be there to hear that one I'm afraid.

The track listing actually transmitted is as follows:

Violet hill
Clocks
In my place
Viva la vida
42
Trouble
Lost!
Yellow
Fix you
Lovers in Japan

Stand out track - Lost!
Shouldn't have bothered track - Yellow

......'Maybe talk and not just speak'.

James Blunt - Same Mistake

So while I'm turning in my sheets
And once again, I cannot sleep
Walk out the door and up the street
Look at the stars beneath my feet
Remember rights that I did wrong
So here I go

Hello, hello

There is no place I cannot go
My mind is muddy but
My heart is heavy, does it show
I lose the track that loses me
So here I go

oo oooooo ooo ooo oo oooo...

And so I sent some men to fight,
And one came back at dead of night,
said "He'd seen my enemy"
said "he looked just like me"
So I set out to cut myself
And here I go

oo oooooo ooo ooo oo oooo...

I'm not calling for a second chance,
I'm screaming at the top of my voice,
Give me reason, but don't give me choice,
Cos I'll just make the same mistake again,

oo oooooo ooo ooo oo oooo...

And maybe someday we will meet
And maybe talk and not just speak
Don't buy the promises 'cause
There are no promises I keep,
and my reflection troubles me
so here I go

oo oooooo ooo ooo oo oooo...

I'm not calling for a second chance,
I'm screaming at the top of my voice,
Give me reason, but don't give me choice,
Cos I'll just make the same mistake (REPEAT) again

oo oooooo ooo ooo oo oooo...

So while I'm turning in my sheets

And once again, I cannot sleep

Walk out the door and up the street

Look at the stars

Look at the stars, fall down,

And I wonder where, did I go wrong.

Future Keyboard Designs

In the Latest issue of MacLife some really luscious pictures are inside of 'Optimus tactus Keyboard'

The Keyboard is OLED backlit , and what this means to us the end user is , that as each app you launch on your computer is brought to the front - eg you click on the screen to bring mail to the front - the keyboard then changes the keys so that mail commands are selected, eg: short cuts for forwarding mail adding attachments etc.

Then you then decide you want to edit some photos in photoshop - and voila the keyboard displays the commands and shortcuts for Photoshop.

The down side is the price - rumored to be in the range of $2000.

Ah well innovation coupled with style never comes cheap!

Backing up SMS/Text on the Iphone to your Mac Computer

Micromat have available as a beta release Syphone which enables you to back up your SMS/txt msgs from your Iphone to your computer as individual 'conversations'

Now this release has a 'couple' of problems :
1 - It crashes like no-ones business - and it's a pain to resurrect it from the 'dead'.
2 - If any of your incoming text msgs from the 'conversation' recipient have the country code eg+44 in-front it will strip them out of the conversation you pick to export, and then you end up with two 'separate conversations' even though on the Iphone they can be seen as 'one' complete 'normal conversation' - if you don't know what I mean you'll see when you try and download a 'conversation' - if you don't see it -you've not got the country code problem so that's cool :)

Now onto the 'crashing problem' in the forum on the Micromat site there is a lengthy explanation of how to resolve this issue - and it is a tad confusing and a bit 'gulp' like in it's detail tbh.
Well these two steps have worked for me :

Go into the folder ~/Library/Application Support/Syphone and delete the file named “SMSDaemon”.
Go into ~/Library/Preferences/ and delete the file named 'com.micromat.Syphone.plist'.
(~ is short for User Name)

Also I have not actually 'installed the app into my applications folder - I just run it off the DMG image - if you do install it your third step should be to delete it and re download it - so hence why I run it off the DMG image - easier and saves on bandwidth.

The Syphone App is free , However if you want a supported app for $40 try here: The Missing Sync for Iphone

Or this Donationware app MobileSyncBrowser which will cost you a 'beer or a meal' according to the developer.

Let me know how you get on :)

Boy A - Film UK

I watched this film last night on TV (4 on demand service).
An excellent drama and gripping at all the right moments , even though you knew what was going to happen quite early on in the story - well I did - It holds you and the acting is superb.

Throughly recommended to anyone who likes a 'real life' story.

Mac OSX 'Snow Leopard' - No G3/4/5 chipset support?

Well as the dust settles from the WWDC 2008 the major story to emerge (after the iphone 3G I suppose) is 'Snow Leopard'

This operating system - no confirmed release date as yet (about a year has been mentioned) - will run only on Intel Chipsets So G3/G4/G5 users (aka me!) are eventually 'discarded'.

It was to be expected it has to be said , as these machines are getting a tad long in the tooth - and carbonising the OS all the time is probably getting harder, ah well that excuse for a new 'system' is getting stronger lol

On a serious note though - this is going to make alot of people very annoyed!!

Digit news story on this.

Macworld WWDC 2008 Live coverage

Macrumours will be covering the event. (link above)

Shame apple are not doing a 'live QT  stream' considering the amount of hype that this event has generated in the last few months.

The event starts 10:00PDT - which is 18:00 UK time.

Shame I'll be at work when it all kicks off !

The Canadian GP 2008 'Awards'

Driver of the Day
Robert Kubica - For not only his maiden GP win - but by doing it while everybody else was suffering from 'Montreal Madness' and losing their cool and the plot (see next award for example)

Muppet of the Day
Lewis Hamilton - for not listening to his driving instructor when traffic lights were explained to him!

Everything and nothing

Having a strange day today ...Thinking about in no particular order:

Iphone 3G

Coldplay new album - do I like it?

Morrissey - repetitive play of 'My Dearest Love'

F1 - Canadian GP - so so so annoyed I can't watch it live tonight due to work ...so I'll be up till 03:00am watching the recording.

The Future (and as Morrissey once said 'How soon is now and when exactly do you mean'?)

Am I hungry?

Did I get enough sleep ?

Responsibility.

Heroes Season 1 will I ever catch up ?

Is there enough culture in my life or am I just a fake intellectual ?

Apart from that not done alot today really.

Morrissey 'My Dearest Love' Lyrics

My Dearest Love

These tears I'm wailing
I spill not without reason
Remove them

My Dearest Love
Myyyyyyyyyyyyyyiiiiiiiiii

Take me to the place I've been dreaming of
Where the grotesquely lonely meet grotesquely lonely and they whisper
Just very softly
Please be mine dearest love
Be mine dearest love
Be my dearest love
Be my dearest love

I have hung on hung on hung on
For one hundred years
For someone to shake me someone to wake me
If necessary someone to break me

My dearest love
My dearest love
My dearest love

My dearest love
My dearest love
My dearest love

On the night you went away.

Sometimes life 'swipes' you sideways - with a feeling you are not expecting- just had one of those tonight. Makes you realise sometimes that what comes out of your mouth is not only - not the truth to other people but maybe more surprisingly - not the truth to yourself.

Maybe this life does change your perceptions of what you once thought was 'intrinsic' to 'YOU' as you walk down the road of 'development experience' ?

Feeder 'Silent Cry' Lyrics

Silent Cry

Silence the cry stepping back further
Escape from the mind , my mind
Twisting inside looking for shelter
Find the divide in me

Oh my god what have I done , one step now the damage is done

It's silent without you
It burns through each and everyday
it takes my breathe away
So lonely without you there's no view
Colours just fade to grey
It takes my breathe away

I was so blind I should have seen it
Noticed the life my Life
I had to climb stepping up further
To find the divide in me

Oh my god what have I done , one step now the damage is done.

It's silent without you
It burns through each and everyday
It takes my breathe away
So lonely without you there's no view
Colours just fade to grey

It takes my breathe away

They all say much of us
But then you always knew
Just want to live our lives
We know your trying to
We put our faith in you
(incomprehensible)
To find new ways to care
Until this story ends

It takes my breathe away
It's silent without you
It burns through each and everyday
It takes my breathe away

oooohhh

It takes my Breathe away

BBC IPlayer Download content on Mac OSX

Well as some of you will have noticed, alot has been said about the BBC IPlayer (well here in the UK anyway!).

Well if your a Mac user - (and lets face it if your not - your a lost soul) you cannot download the content off BBC IPlayer for watching at a later date , you have to watch it 'live' streaming on your 'puter.

Well not anymore! With the aid of IPlayer Downloader you can download it to your Mac by inserting the URL of the program you have chosen off IPlayer to watch , and voila! it downloads the program to the destination of your choice - say desktop and you can then open the program in QT (Quicktime).
It can then be transfered to IPod/ Iphone or even Disc.
Oh and it's DRM free so it stays on 'puter for as long as you want it to. So none of this after 30 days or-whatever it is you can't play the file due DRM issues.

So pretty cool eh!

Morrissey new album 'Years of Refusal'

'True to You' have released information in regard to Morrissey's new Album entitled : 'Years of Refusal'.

It's slated for a 9th of September 2008 (UK) release and reported so far to be 12 tracks.

A Sort of partial track listing can be obtained :

'That's how people grow up'
'All you need is me'
'Something is squeezing my skull'
'I'm throwing my arms around paris'
'One day goodbye will be farewell'
'Mama lay softly on the riverbed' -Played at the O2 Wireless festival -4/07/08

Produced by Jerry Finn who helmed Production and Mixing on 'You are the Quarry'

Personally I thought the production on 'Ringleader of the Tormentors' was far more grandiose than the repetitive formulaic approach for 'You are the Quarry' - Maybe Tony Visconti was otherwise engaged.

Album can be pre-ordered here

Morrissey 'All You need is me' - New Single release.

This single was originally slated for a release date of 19th of May , but was delayed (no idea why)

It's available on 2 formats in 3 different 'guises'

1 CD Single
a All you need is me
b Children in Pieces - New Track

2 7'' *1
a All you need is me
b My Dearest love - New Track

3 7'' *2
a All you need is me
b Drive in Saturday ( Live at Orpheum Theatre Omaha Nebraska, 11th May 2007)

Now for the Morrissey concious of you - like me - the first thing you notice is if you don't get your hands on the 7''*1 you can't get hold of the Track 'My Dearest Love', so fingers crossed that when Itunes (UK) updates on Tuesday (3rd June) all tracks become available in a digital format.

Oh and btw the Single is only available for one week.

*update* Looks like Decca are not making this single available on Itunes (UK) - in relation to the b-Sides, so i'm a tad disappointed and annoyed about that to say the least!
